Baspa Valley; a Heaven for Anglers

Fishing is one of the most pleasurable and accessible outdoor sport. This pursuit can be for fun or profit. Over the past few years, angling and fishing have established themselves among the most popular adventure activities in India.

Baspa Valley(Kinnaur) offer very nice pools for anglers, there are many pools starting from Trout Farm by Fishery Department from where you can get day permit and start fishing upstream till Batseri for 02 Km.

Many secluded and unexplored fishing-spots dot the river bank in this untouched, unpolluted and pristine valley. The only disturbing noises will be the chirping of birds and the gurgling of Baspa.

For the enthusiasts, it is a treat to angle for Trout in the crystal clear waters of the Baspa River in Sangla Valley. India’s first trout breeding farm was set up in Sangla way back in 1926. Besides April, October is the best time to angle for Brown and Rainbow Trouts.
